Details

Bentonite is a clay-like material derived of montmorlinite. Betonite is typically used as either a suspension agent in glazes and plasticizer in clay bodies. A noticable difference in plasticity can be seen with additions as low as 1% and is typically used up to 5% in recipes. Bentonite contains only trace amounts of iron oxide however, for recipes like super-white porcelains where optimum whitness and translucency are desired we also carry Veegum T and Bentonite HPM-20.
